Growing the Kingdom of God

I taught a few weeks ago, and we discussed Acts and Saul/Paul growing the kingdom of God. One activity we did that I enjoyed was I created leaves with words that had scripture/the message for the day, and the kids "grew" the kingdom of God by adding the leaves to a tree on the wall (created with green crepe paper!) Then the kids created their own branches using pipe cleaners, a few real leaves, and their own leaves with way they could grow the kingdom (helping family, saying nice words etc).

  1. That sounds like a great project!
I will be teaching this Sunday and could use some Father's day ideas. The lesson will focus on helping families in hard times (Ruth) and I would really like to do a helping your father type craft. Any suggestions?

  2. I read about a little Father's Day craft idea in the June issue of Highlights magazine for children just today. It suggested making a "coupon book" with 3-4 "coupons" in it. For instance SWEEP OUT GARAGE or PULL 50 WEEDS FROM THE GARDEN or WASH THE CAR or WATER PLANTS or FEED THE DOG...anything that Dad would normally be involved with. Then, the children can decorate the cover and give the "coupon book" to Dad. Just an idea.
